Privacy Policy
Effective October 16, 2026
The short version
- We collect your email address, the PATs you write, and the hearts and reports you leave.
- Public PATs are visible to everyone. Private PATs are visible to anyone with the link.
- We don't sell your information, we don't run ads, and we don't use tracking or advertising cookies.
- You can ask us to delete your account and your PATs at any time.
- Questions: [email protected]
1. Who we are
Please Accept This Thank You ("PAT," "we," "us") is operated by Please Accept This Thank You LLC, a Georgia limited liability company. This policy explains what information we collect through sendpat.com and related domains (the "Service"), and what we do with it.
2. What we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: your email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and basic profile details from Google. We don't receive your Google password.
- PATs you write: who you're thanking, what you're thanking them for, your message, the name you sign with (if any), and whether the PAT is public or private.
- Activity: the PATs you heart, the PATs you report and any reason you give, and when you agreed to our Terms.
- Messages to us: anything you send to [email protected].
Information collected automatically
- Our hosting and database providers keep standard technical logs, such as IP address, browser type, and the time of each request. These are used for security and to keep the Service running.
- We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking tools.
3. How we use it
- To run the Service: sign you in, post and show your PATs, count hearts, and send sign-in emails.
- To keep PAT safe: filter content, review reports, prevent spam and abuse, and enforce our Terms.
- To respond to you when you contact us.
- To send important notices about your account or changes to our Terms or this policy. We don't send marketing emails unless you choose to receive them.
- To feature public PATs on PAT's own website and social media, as described in our Terms. We never feature private PATs.
- To meet legal obligations.
4. What other people can see
- Public PATs (posted with "Shout them out") can be seen by anyone, including people without an account, along with their heart count and posting date.
- Private PATs (posted with "Send privately") don't appear on the wall, but anyone who has the link can open them.
- The name you sign with appears on your PAT. If you leave it blank, no name is shown.
- Your email address is never shown to other users. PAT's administrators can see which account posted a PAT, so they can handle reports and enforce our Terms.
- Once you share a PAT's link, or someone takes a screenshot, we can't control where that copy goes.
5. Who we share it with
We don't sell or rent your personal information. We share it only:
- With service providers that run parts of PAT for us, under their own privacy and security commitments. They include Supabase (database and sign-in), Cloudflare (hosting, security and email routing), Google (if you choose Google sign-in), and an email delivery provider for sign-in emails. They may use your information only to provide their services to us.
- For legal reasons: if we believe in good faith that the law requires it, or to protect the safety, rights or property of our users, the public or PAT.
- In a business change: if PAT is sold, merged or reorganized, your information may move to the new owner. This policy will continue to apply to it unless you are told otherwise.
6. Cookies and browser storage
We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. PAT stores a small amount of information in your browser's local storage. That includes your sign-in session, so you stay signed in, and a note that you've accepted our Terms. You can clear it at any time by signing out or clearing your browser's site data.
7. How long we keep it
- Your account and PATs: kept for as long as your account is open, unless you remove them.
- Removed PATs: when you remove a PAT, it disappears from the wall and your account right away. We keep an archived copy for up to 90 days so mistakes can be undone, and so we can handle reports or legal requests. After that it is permanently deleted. You can ask us to delete it permanently sooner.
- Closed accounts: when you ask us to close your account, we delete your account and PATs within 30 days. We may keep limited information longer where the law requires it, or to prevent repeated abuse, for example a record that an account was blocked.
- Backups and logs held by our providers are deleted on their own schedules.
8. Your choices and rights
- Remove a PAT: tap "Remove" on any PAT you posted.
- Access, correct or delete your data, or close your account: email [email protected] from the email address on your account. We may ask you to confirm it's you.
- Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, such as the right to get a copy of your data or to object to certain uses. Email us to make any request. We will respond within the time the law requires, and we won't treat you differently for asking.
9. Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information. These include encrypted connections (HTTPS), database rules that limit who can read what, and sign-in without passwords. No online service is perfectly secure. If we learn of a breach that affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.
10. Children
PAT is not for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email [email protected] and we will delete it.
11. People named in PATs
PATs mention the people being thanked, usually by first name or nickname. If you're named in a PAT and want it removed, email [email protected] with its link, or use the "Report this PAT" link on its page. We aim to respond within a few business days.
12. Where your data is stored
PAT is based in the United States, and our providers may store and process information in the United States and other countries. By using PAT, you understand that your information will be handled in the United States.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as PAT grows, for example when we add paid features. When we do, we will change the effective date above. For significant changes, we will give notice on the site or by email before they take effect.
